Abstract
This study is part of the global context of the energy transition in the building sector, the latter which is the first energy consumer in Algeria, a non-productive sector but energy intensive especially those which support used for air conditioning and heating. In order to improve the thermal comfort level of the occupants. Our research targets the energy estimation of educational establishments. We take as a case study the Elwarthilani school group (Bordj El Bahri, Algiers) and two other forms that we have proposed. The objective is to improve comfort and reduce energy consumption.
In order to achieve this objective, we carried out a bibliographical research on the form of building, energy efficiency as well as school architecture in Algeria and we studied the energy consumption in school architectural projects as a fact. We took refuge to thermal simulation using EcoDesigner STAR software to be able to evaluate the annual energy consumption and by targets of different forms of educational establishments (the only dependent form).
This research is based on a comparative study of the results of simulations and consists of the proposal of a model of form of educational establishment which can improve the level of thermal comfort and save energy in a Mediterranean climate.
