Les Escaliers urbains Algérois, un patrimoin à reconnaitre Cas d'étude: quartier nord de Larbi Ben M'HidI

Abstract

The urban stair is one of the main elements of the urban tissue, it act as a driving force of daily life of the inhabitants, on the one hand they are nodes, elements that articulate the urban fabric, and voids which are landmarks in the city, on the other hand , they are the place of social cohesion or weave the different relationships between users :trade, relaxation, leisure, meeting ... etc.., however , over time and with different successive changes which affected the economic, social and political all cities including the Algerian city of Algiers , most of urban stairs have lost their vocation, the urban stair continues to play a major role in the city. The problematic of urban stairs today refers to recurring issues in several fields such as urban planning, architecture and sociology course. The main objective of this study is to identify the problem of negligence and dysfunction of these elements, and to verify some parameters of urban stairs on the use of these areas, through: - Identification of morphological characteristics of the studied urban stairs, by focusing on their physical configuration, and reveal the dialectical relationship between urban forms and their various users. - Identification of the different modes of use and ownership of these urban stairs, and to identify factors that influence these patterns of users. - The determination of the various parameters that are involved in the creation of a daily life in the urban stair, through the verification of formal, functional and climatic parameters. As urban and touristic potentialities, the challenge is to see how these stairs that don’t participate in the life of the city, can be revitalized and reintegrated into animated, urban or touristic circuits, also, to see if their patrimonialization can protect them from any appropriation.
