Abstract
Our research focuses on the influence of space and architectural environments quality, on the well-being and the child's development, which was worrying during long years the researchers in various fields, such as health, psychology, education.... etc. Despite all these efforts, the subject is far from being comprehensively understood, knowing that early childhood is a very sensitive and vulnerable period, during which the child is completely dependent, of adults and of his environment. At the national level, this theme has rarely been discussed, particularly from the point of view of architectural quality. with the change of the social and professional status of the Algerian family in particular that of women, the guard of the child becomes a necessity and not a choice, which generates an imbalance between supply and demand. The standard level of expectation of the parents obviously changed and their criteria of choice are summarized into two or three elements: The cost initially, then the level of education, and the leisure. Through our investigation, we have seen the ignorance of the architectural quality and environments role for the child development, by the parents and the reception facility’s staffs. Aspects that are also often overlooked by designers, regulatory texts, and technical requirements. They treat them only in summary way (surfaces, openings, heating…. etc.). Our objective through this research is to attract the attention and to orient the designers and the decision-makers towards childcare, giving more importance to the architectural ambiance quality, to the specificities and the needs of children, staff, and the local context (social, economic, climate ... etc.). The revision of the regulation ordering the realization and the functioning of the childcare facilities proves essential to the architectural ambiance quality, the specificities and the needs of the children, the staff and the local context (social, economic, climatic ... etc.).
